4. Drax The Destroyer
Drax is a Destroyer. What more need be said? Take Kratos, the god of war, and throw in some T-800 Terminator, and you've got yourself one Destroyer. Knives are the weapons of choice for this head-first brawler. During the Annihilation saga, which eventually led to the rebirth of Guardians Of The Galaxy, Drax was also reborn. After being literally murdered by a knife through the head, Drax's body shut down and cocooned itself until he finally emerged, moulting from a hulking menace to a streamlined killing machine and reluctant anti-hero. Drax's personality isn't entirely new ground since Snyder's Man of Steel, however. Remember how Zod was programmed to be a soldier, born to fight? Well, Drax was built to (you guessed it) destroy. More specifically, it's his mission to destroy Thanos (known fondly as "that purple-chinned smiling dude who appeared after The Avengers credits"). The casting of Drax is an understandable one, because if there is one thing that Dave Bautista exudes, it's physical presence and power through body language. Drax is perhaps the most stoic member of the team, so he mainly conveys his emotions (90% aggression) through gestures: a cold glare, a tensed muscle, perhaps a subtle growl or two. If you ever came across Drax on a dark night, you'd stop going out at night. Forever.
