1. Its Scope Is Massive
MarvelOf course, the key tie in point here is Thanos. It appears he's a known entity throughout the part of the universe Guardians takes place in and he's mentioned by both the Nova Corps and the prisoners incarcerated in the Kyln. The fact the most of the prisoners don't like him as is evidenced by their harsh treatment of his daughter Gamora speaks volumes of how dangerous he must be, that even these scumbags are terrified of him. Guardians will take us to completely alien territory and expand the scope of everything much like the first Thor movie did. It's a game changer for sure, both for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel Studios themselves. Since we spied Thanos at the end of the Avengers credits, we knew things were about to get more epic and Guardians is the first real step in that direction.
