Guardians of the Galaxy: 10 Reasons Chris Pratt Is An Awesome Choice For Star-Lord

8. But He Can Also Be Serious

zdf All reports that I hear of Zero Dark Thirty, both by those I know and those I don€™t, say that the best part of the movie is the acting performances, ranging from €œthat guy from the time-travel movie you wouldn€™t shut up about for two months€ (Mark Duplass from Safety Not Guaranteed), €œthat girl from that artsy movie you made me watch€ (Jessica Chastain from The Tree of Life/Take Shelter), and €œthe army guy, but not the one who fought Bane in that boxing movie you made me watch€ (referring to Chris Pratt in comparison to Joel Edgerton from Warrior). This is a very convincing argument, because aside from the basic theory that comedy actually is the most difficult form of performance art, which would make drama very easy, the knowledge of Pratt€™s acting chops is ultimately the thing that puts a lot of people directly on the train for this casting choice. A Marvel actor still needs to balance the power and strength of his story with the jokes, and I truly believe that Pratt can completely pull it off.
