Guardians Of The Galaxy 2: Everything We Know So Far

3. It'll Be A More Emotional Film Than The First (And The Pitch Made Chris Pratt Cry)

"It's both a bigger movie and a smaller movie because we focus more intensely on some of the characters," said James Gunn in reference to the perceived "smaller" scale of Guardians Of The Galaxy 2, which the man his repeatedly talked up as being a lot more emotionally-grounded and thus somewhat more intimate than the first instalment. So emotional was the script, in fact, that Chris Pratt - Star Lord himself - was moved to tears when he first heard about the concept for the sequel. In an interview conducted during the press junkets for Jurassic World, Pratt revealed how emotional the story is going to be, whilst also reaffirming that Gunn's idea is, like, the best idea ever or something:
"I will say that pitch and his idea legitimately put tears in my eyes. It's so good. And I cannot wait to get started on it and I cannot wait for people to see what he's gonna pull off with the second movie. From what I understand they heard it at Marvel and said nothing. They were like, 'perfect.' They loved it so much they didn't even have a note for it.'
Not even a note? Take that, Joss Whedon.
