Known For: Deadpool, Terminator 6

Why He's Right For The Job: One of the nerdiest high-profile filmmakers working today, Tim Miller is what happens when a comic-book junkie, hardcore movie fan and all-round geek finds success in Hollywood.

His passion for comic-books translated into a major win with Deadpool, and there's no reason he couldn't bring that same love and attention to Vol. 3. He's also a genuinely funny, witty guy in real life - something that Deadpool proved onscreen - and he's definitely got that right swagger and sense of humour to take the Guardians formula and play with it in interesting ways.

Chances Of It Happening: Miller is very busy at the moment; he's currently shooting Terminator 6, and will have to see it through to its far-off release in November 2019. If Marvel wants Vol. 3 to release in 2020, then he won't be an option.

Miller is also working on a Kitty Pryde movie for Fox, but here's the interesting bit: with Comcast backing out of the Fox bidding war, Disney is now free to acquire the company. Should they do so, the Kitty Pryde movie would be under their roof, so they could quite easily can the project, freeing up Miller's time. The dude loves comic-books, so he'd jump at the chance to take over the Guardians franchise. 6/10

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
