Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2: 10 Reasons It's Better Than The Original

4. It's Funnier

Of all the things that made Guardians of the Galaxy super a surprise hit in 2014, few aspects of the film can claim to have contributed to as much to this success as its great sense of humor. And much like with the screenwriting for the film itself, this humor was only improved upon in Vol. 2.

You would honestly be hard-pressed to not bust a gut laughing several times throughout the film's duration at some of the more outrageous moments. Meanwhile, there's also plenty of well-placed jokes throughout to keep the chuckles coming in the meantime. Plus, none of it feels forced and each joke works very well with the characters that are involved.

What's more is that the film manages to do something that's not very easy to accomplish and that only a select few films have done well: seamlessly combine humor with drama and serious moments.

Even in some of the film's most dramatic points, it still manages to find just that split second to make you laugh, all while never taking away from the weight of the moment. In fact, not since the Evil Dead trilogy has this style of comedy been utilized so well.

Not only is Vol. 2 even more hilarious than its already funny predecessor was, but it is also quite possibly one of the single funniest films of the modern era.
