Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

3. Drax

He's not so much the rage-fuelled monster he was in the first film (mostly thanks to Ronan being removed from the equation probably), but Drax has changed to occupy a completely different dynamic within the team - of class clown.

His original po-faced seriousness and inability to understand any way but literally has been replaced with more obnoxious one-liners, and while they skirt a little close to being too much, he's very funny and he keeps up the breezier spirit of the film when other characters are dealing with weightier issues.

Drax and Mantis' dynamic is one of the best parts of the film - particularly when he's reacting to the idea of them being physical - and cleverly we do still get to see flashes of his deep emotional wounds when he's talking to her. It would have been wrong for that to drop away in light of the increase in comedy, so the balance is good to note.
