16. Romance?

Look. nobody likes it when female characters are relegated to romantic sub-plot elements, and the blossoming romance between Gamora and Star-Lord will no doubt piss people off, but it has depth.

It's not like Gamora is a shy retiring wallflower, or has been underdeveloped the same way Pepper Potts and Jane Foster were. She exists on her own without needing the validation of a man. It just so happens that her arc suits finding family and love after she's been so abused by Thanos and past defining relationships.

And it's hard not to feel a little romantic about them, really.
