Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3: Bautista Only Back Without Gunn Because He's "Legally Obligated"

Working for Disney is "nauseating" right now...

It doesn't look like we'll be seeing any more of Drax after Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 3.

The actor behind the character - Dave Bautista - has already been very vocal in his support of James Gunn, who was sacked after the revelation of offensive joke tweets by Disney and he's doubled down on that this weekend. Bautista also added his name to the official cast letter that was sent to Disney expressing support for the ousted director - apparently to no avail.

And now that it seems there's no way back for Gunn, Bautista has addressed his own future in the Guardians franchise by openly attacking Disney for their choice to sack Gunn and crumble to the pressure of what he calls "cybernazis."

Quite how this will go down with Disney remains to be seen, but he's entitled to express his own opinion. By the sound of it, if he could get out of it, Bautista wouldn't be returning for Vol 3 at all. Hopefully, that feeling doesn't extend across the entire cast, because we could be faced with a situation where the cast simply don't want to be there for whoever comes in to direct them.

That's a hell of a cursed chalice to have to face and it's not going to be the best bargaining chip for Marvel at this stage. Not to mention the fact that there's never been an actor who didn't want to play a role and was still brilliant in it. It's a contradiction in terms.
