Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

2. It's WAY Too Long

It's completely typical for trilogy-ending movies to be the longest of the lot, and in that tradition Vol. 3 clocks in at a beefy 150 minutes - almost 15 minutes longer than Vol. 2 and almost an entire half-hour longer than the original.

That's not inherently a bad thing, yet this is ultimately a film that gets bogged down by saggy pacing, especially in its blatantly bloated second act.

Gunn over-indulges with fetch quest excursions as the Guardians fleet from location to location to track down trinkets and people necessary to their survival.

These adventures are certainly enjoyable to a point, but most of them end up outstaying their welcome at least a little, ensuring Vol. 3 feels like a movie that could've used another couple of passes in the editing room to tighten things up.
