5. The Scream Queen Is Back
That's right, it appears to have been confirmed that the Scream Queen, Miss Jamie Lee Curtis herself will once again be returning to the role of Laurie Strode.
This is absolutely fantastic news. Curtis delivered what is unquestionably one of her best performances ever in the prior film and it will be a delight to see her sink her teeth into Laurie once more.
It will also be incredibly interesting to see where the film goes with her story, after having spent decades as this war-torn woman preparing for Michael's return and losing her family in the process, her family now seems to finally understand what she's been going through, which leaves plenty of room for Curtis to continue stretching her performance.
It's also, again, a real vote of confidence from Blumhouse. For a studio who's made the lion's share of their profits based on a low-budget model, it would have been all too easy to simply write Laurie Strode out of the sequel and focus on a new protagonist. Instead, they've gone the distance to get her back, which will wind up making for an infinitely more emotionally-investing film.
