After decades away from the franchise, John Carpenter made his triumphant return to his original creation last year, executive producing and scoring the latest film. According to the report, Carpenter is once again returning to do the score for the sequel.

He has not been shy about his love for scoring Green's Halloween film and his desire to return to do so once again for the follow-up, saying;

"We’ll be ready. We’ve all talked about it. We’ll be ready.”

Carpenter's score for his original 1978 film is a thing of legend at this point, going down in history as one of the best horror scores of all time. So after decades of other composers performing their own renditions of it, having Carpenter come back to work alongside Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies to score Blumhouse's first film was amazing.

The resulting score was not just a stroll down memory lane but an innovative new score that incorporated new themes, leitmotifs, and entirely fresh soundscapes.

Having this team all return to score the sequel is a wonderful addition. Any choice that keeps Carpenter creatively involved in the franchise is a great one.
