7. We Need To Talk About Karen

We really do need to talk about Karen Nelson...

Undoubtedly the biggest talking point of Halloween Kills, the daughter of Laurie ends up clinically killed by Michael Myers in the same room he'd killed his sister when he was just six years of age. And with Karen's bloodied body dropping to the floor, that was Kills' big kicker ending as all that's left to do is for the film to wrap up Laurie's monologue as she and Michael both stare out into the distance.

Judy Greer's Karen was one of those who took it to The Shape when Tommy's mob circled Michael, with her the person sticking the aforementioned knife between Myers' shoulder blades.

The death of Karen is something that has caused upset amongst certain sections of the Halloween fan base, as many can't help but point out some flaws with this demise. Firstly, why didn't the Haddonfield residents truly finish the job when setting out to kill Michael? But no, they just left his motionless body on the floor and hoped for the best.

After that, it stands to question how the recovered Shape was then able to walk past so many bystanders as he made his way to confront Karen in the old Myers House. And for Karen, who had already seen Michael supposedly burn alive and manage to return to continue his killing spree, why did she so naively let her guard down in the film's final few minutes?
