3. Kreacher
At first, Kreacher appears to be the exact opposite of Dobby: mean-spirited, vain, and a supporter of the Dark Arts. He snoops around Grimmauld Place muttering about Mudbloods and blood traitors. And in the books, he helps bring about the death of Sirius.
However, his attitude changes in The Deathly Hallows. Kreacher reveals how he was forced to watch Regulus drown after successfully stealing one of Voldemort’s horcruxes. Kreacher then tried to destroy Slytherin’s locket but was never able to open the horcrux.
After retelling this story, Harry and the others are more sympathetic to the elf and Kreacher is much kinder towards his guests. He even participates in the Battle of Hogwarts and unites the elves in the kitchen against Voldemort’s forces.
As with Mrs. Figg, there is much more to Kreacher than meets the eye.
