Cho Chang was the girl that everybody had a crush on. She was smart, beautiful, brave, and a decent warrior. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that the equally smart, beautiful, and brave Hermione Granger would bag the most popular girl at school.

Chang was also the seeker for the Ravenclaw quidditch team, proving herself strong and determined. We know that Hermione was rather partial to those who played sports with Viktor Krum and Ron Weasley both respected quidditch players. Well, Viktor more than Ron.

Both Hermione and Cho had also experienced trauma in their lives, Hermione with her parents and Cho with her ex-boyfriend, Cedric Diggory. In fact, Hermione was very vocal in her support for Cho when Cedric was murdered and explained to a confused Harry Potter why she was acting strange around him.

The books may have shipped Cho and Harry but we all know that Hermione and Cho would have made a better and more exciting couple.
