Harry Potter: 10 Heroic Acts Committed By Slytherins
5. Narcissa Malfoy – Lied To Voldemort About Harry's Death
Harry had a lot of assistance in his quest to defeat Voldemort. As well as the help he received from his two best friends, he was aided by Dumbledore, Aberforth, Dobby, Snape, and the D.A. during The Deathly Hallows.
Narcissa also helped our hero in his final quest. After casting the Killing Curse, Voldemort sent Narcissa to check if Harry was definitely dead. Of course, Narcissa felt Harry’s beating heart when she examined him. But rather than informing her master, she asked Harry whether her son was still alive. Upon hearing that Draco was safe, she lied to Voldemort and told him Harry was dead.
Narcissa knew she would only get back to the castle if Voldemort believed he had already won. In other words, she saved Harry and lied to her master in order to reunite with her son.
Whilst her primary motive was to save Draco rather than Harry, her actions were still heroic. If Voldemort had sent a second person to inspect the body, Narcissa’s lie would have been exposed and she would have suffered severe consequences.
