Harry Potter: 10 Most Hated Characters Who Aren’t Villains
4. Moaning Myrtle
Moaning Myrtle is another character who’s featured heavily in The Chamber of Secrets. Whilst most of the Hogwarts ghosts keep to themselves, Myrtle is hard to ignore.
She haunts the Girls’ Bathroom on the First Floor and she’s constantly wailing about something or other. She’s so irritating that girls rarely use the toilets on this floor because of how distracting she is.
But her most annoying attribute is her fixation with Harry. Myrtle’s feelings for him start to grow in The Chambers of Secrets but they bloom in The Goblet of Fire. During the scene in the Prefects’ Bathroom, she has no consideration for Harry’s privacy and actively enjoys watching him swim through the bubbly water.
Though she does make a brief appearance in The Half-Blood Prince, The Goblet of Fire is really the last time we see Myrtle, and it’s fair to say no Harry Potter fan was upset about her absence.
