Harry Potter: 10 Most Powerful Slytherin Students
It sure is fun to be the bad guy!
There are lots of simple pleasures in life that keep nerds feeling happy. Things like watching the latest episode of your favourite show, unlocking video game secrets and discovering a new series are chief among them. But, one of the biggest is being sorted into your Hogwarts house.
While there's plenty of criticism to be thrown towards the good old sorting system, there's still lots of fun in finding your allegiance and looking at the fellow Wizarding World characters who sit alongside you. Of course, while the likes of Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Gryffindor are great, nothing beats a sneaky slice of Slytherin.
As the resident baddies of the Potter world (for the most part), this house is chock full of dastardly characters. However, while the house's most prominent trait may be cunning, another word should come to mind as well: power.
Slytherin has seen a plethora of powerful students, as it's a breeding ground for those with ambition. But which Hogwarts alumni gave Slytherin bragging rights as home to the most powerful names in the Wizarding World?
--
An honourable mention goes to Salazar Slytherin. He was indeed a powerful wizard, but as the house's founder, he doesn't qualify as a student.
10. Antonin Dolohov
It's safe to say that this character feels like an afterthought, seeing as the movies treated him like a mere henchman. Still, despite that, he's not the kind of wizard you'd want to run into in a dark alley. If you were unlucky enough to do so (and didn't so happen to be covered in plot armour), you'd certainly struggle to leave that situation alive.
Antonin Dolohov was one of Voldemort's most loyal Death Eaters. He played a significant role in the first wizarding wars, torturing and killing plenty of muggles and wizards alike. These crimes led to him spending most of his life in Azkaban, save for two escapes. The second of which led to him getting the chance to attack Harry, Hermione and Ron in the Luchino Caffe.
Ultimately, this devilish wizard was responsible for killing one of the series' most loveable characters, that being Remus Lupin. His ability to kill and maim heroes shows that he's certainly one of Slytherin's strongest graduates.
Imagine the chaos that would have ensued had he never been sent to Azkaban. It doesn't bear thinking about.
