Harry Potter: 10 Times JK Rowling Admitted To Changing Her Plans

6. Other Titles For The Deathly Hallows

Even the very titles of the Harry Potter stories have become iconic with their set structure and perplexing second halves. Fans remember waiting desperately for publication and trying to figure out who the Half-Blood Prince could be and what on earth a Goblet of Fire might do.

It should come as no surprise that Rowling also went back and forth on what the titles of some of the episodes in her saga should be.

How does Harry Potter And The Elder Wand sound to you? It was almost the title of the last book after all. The hunt for the famous wand was certainly a vital part of this final story. Even more likely to be released was Harry Potter And The Peverell Quest. That version gives just as much of a clue about the Hallows as the published choice, focusing on their creators (who after all were distantly related to Harry) rather than the objects themselves, so why wasn't it used?

The answer is simple, and one most would agree with: Rowling has been quoted as saying that 'Quest' is now seen as a noticeably corny word.
