Harry Potter: 10 Ways The Muggle World Would Inevitably Discover Wizards

1. Finance

The only banking option for wizards seems to be Gringotts. That seems to be enough for most wizards, who rarely venture out into the Muggle world. But with Hogsmeade identified as the only all wizarding settlement in Britain (Prisoner of Azkaban), that means that most wizards live in Muggle cities and towns. Their domiciles can be hidden, like Number 12, Grimmauld Place; or disguised, like St. Mungo's. But where do they go for the basic staples of life, like food? There are no grocery stores in Diagon Alley, so that means they need to acquire food from Muggle shops and markets (as you can't make food appear out of thin air, per the Exceptions to Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration). How do they pay for it, when their monetary system is based on Galleons and not pounds sterling? Is there a Gringotts€™ Express card that automatically does the currency exchange for them? You can exchange money at Gringotts, as we see the Grangers doing in The Chamber of Secrets, and Arthur has Muggle money for the Underground in Order of the Phoenix. But how many of us have dropped money without realizing it before? What if a Muggle finds a Galleon? Or do lost wizard coins fall through the earth back to Gringotts (hopefully back into their owner's vaults)? Any points niggling at the back of your mind? Or do you have answers (with links) to these questions? Let us know in the comments section below, please.
