Harry Potter: 10 Weird Rules A Student At Hogwarts Must Follow
2. No Magic In The Corridors
Hogwarts is a magic school so... how can you ban students from using skills you taught them when going about their business between classes? Well, there's lots of reasons why it makes sense to enforce such a rule, as it acts as a significant barrier to bullying and can help the students remain safe from themselves.
With a small school filled with children there's bound to be some fireworks. Giving them the ability to perform vengeance or pranks through magic is undoubtedly fanning the fire. Therefore ensuring that students aren't able to perform dangerous spells in the school's busiest section - full of pupils running between classes, hoping not to violate the lateness rule - might be a logical idea.
Still, it's undoubtedly a strange one, as placing a ban on magic in an educational system that is rearing its alumni to become famous wizards just seems counterintuitive.
Perhaps instead of banning magic in the corridors entirely, they can help students to understand when and where is appropriate for magic. Then again, giving young adults incredible powers and telling them not to use them is likely to produce some unwanted repercussions.
