Harry Potter: 10 Worst Things Dolores Umbridge Has Ever Done

Harry goes through a rough time in his fifth year. Thanks to the nonsense in the Daily Prophet, he has to deal with an onslaught of sly remarks from the rest of the school, as almost everyone thinks he’s an attention-seeking liar.

Quidditch gives Harry some relief from all the negativity, but unfortunately for him, it all goes wrong during the first match of the season. At the end of the game, Malfoy (who’s just been beaten to the Snitch) starts insulting the Weasleys’ parents and Harry’s mother. Overwhelmed with rage, Harry and George sprint towards Malfoy and start beating him up.

When the whole affair has settled down, Harry and George are taken to McGonagall’s office. Initially, they’re just given detentions, but then Umbridge steps in and decides to ban them from playing Quidditch ever again. And, despite the fact that he didn’t even do anything, Fred gets banned, too. The Slytherins, meanwhile, aren’t punished at all. Malfoy’s insults and Crabbe’s foul play at the end of the match are completely ignored.

Luckily for Harry, Umbridge’s ban is removed when she leaves Hogwarts at the end of the year.
