Harry Potter: 10 Worst Things Dolores Umbridge Has Ever Done

Most Harry Potter fans associate Umbridge with Harry’s fifth adventure, but she also crops up in The Deathly Hallows as well.

After Voldemort and the Deaths Eaters take over the Ministry, Umbridge becomes the leader of the Muggle-Born Registration Commission. It’s her job to question and process Muggle-born witches and wizards and send them to Azkaban for the crime of stealing magic. Of course, there’s no logic to this at all. Muggle-borns don’t steal magic – their abilities are natural.

But Umbridge couldn’t care less. She relishes her new position and shows no sign of remorse. Whilst we’re never told how many people she sends to Azkaban, plenty of Muggle-borns choose to go on the run to avoid this terrible fate, including Dean Thomas and Ted Tonks.

Thankfully, this unfair practice only lasts for a year, and the whole thing is shut down in the wake of Voldemort’s downfall. As for Umbridge, she ends up being put on trial and sent to Azkaban for her crimes.
