Harry Potter: 10 Worst Things Dolores Umbridge Has Ever Done

The Order of the Phoenix surprises us straight away by placing Harry in a perilous position when he least expects it.

During a brief argument between Harry and Dudley, the warm summer air turns cold, and the surrounding skies begin to darken. The two cousins run for shelter, but they’re soon attacked by a pair of dementors. Though Harry manages to fend them off with the Patronus Charm, he’s forced to attend a Ministry hearing for using magic outside school in the presence of a Muggle.

Both Harry and Dumbledore assume the dementors were sent by Voldemort. But later on, Umbridge reveals it was her all along. She wanted to silence Harry due to his claims about Voldemort’s return, and even if the dementors didn’t kill him, she hoped he would be expelled and discredited in the trial that followed.

With some help from Dumbledore, Harry manages to avoid being expelled, but Umbridge’s twisted plan almost worked. If it wasn’t for the reasonable members of the Wizengamot and Mrs Figg’s testimony, he would have been expelled for sure.
