Harry Potter: 10 Worst Things Dolores Umbridge Has Ever Done

During her brief tenure as the Headmistress of Hogwarts, Umbridge hits a new low when she strolls into the grounds with some of her Ministry cronies and tries to overpower Hagrid in the dead of night.

Harry and his classmates – who are in the middle of their Astronomy OWL exam – oversee the entire scene from above. When Hagrid refuses to go with the Ministry members, they start to attack him with jinxes and curses. But due to Hagrid’s giant blood, the spells are mostly ineffective, and the gamekeeper retaliates by walloping his opponents with his fists.

McGonagall soon intervenes and tells the attackers to stop. But before she can raise a wand to defend herself, Umbridge and her colleagues send a series of stunning spells at McGonagall, which knock her out immediately. Indeed, the damage is so extensive that she has to be moved to St Mungo's Hospital for several weeks in order to recover.

Even by her own standards, Umbridge’s willingness to assault two of her fellow teachers is beyond barbaric. This – more than anything else – demonstrates how dangerous and cowardly she really is.
