Ariana Dumbledore is a difficult character to assess in terms of power. She was the youngest daughter of Percival and Kendra Dumbledore, and tragically died when she was just fourteen in the midst of a struggle between Grindelwald and her two older brothers.

Whilst she was alive, however, she showed clear signs of being an immensely powerful witch. Indeed, she was able to perform magic when she was just six-years-old. But following an altercation with several Muggle boys, Ariana was unable to control her magical abilities.

Kendra kept her increasingly unstable daughter away from the outside world when the family moved to Godric’s Hollow. And during one of Ariana’s fits, she caused a magical explosion that killed her mother and left Albus as head of the family.

If she’d managed to keep her magic under control, Ariana may well have grown into an incredibly powerful witch. But due to her unhinged mind and her untimely death, she never reached her full potential.
