Harry Potter: 12 Most Powerful Witches Ever

Ginny Weasley’s character arc doesn’t get enough attention from Harry Potter fans. Whilst she started off as a shy, timid individual (especially when she was around Harry), she grew up to be an exceptionally powerful witch.

Her abilities became clear in The Order of the Phoenix when she joined Dumbledore’s Army (a secret magic group that learned offensive and defensive spells in the Room of Requirement). Ginny was particularly good at the Reductor Curse, and – according to George – she also had a knack for the Bat-Bogey Hex.

Like many of her older brothers, Ginny was also a gifted Quidditch player. She beat Cho Chang to the snitch in the final match of the season two years in a row and helped the team win the Quidditch Cup. She even went on to play for the Holyhead Harpies (the only professional, all-female Quidditch team) once she had left Hogwarts.

Though she can sometimes be overshadowed by Hermione (who’s easily the most prominent female character in the franchise), Ginny was a very talented and unique character, especially in the books.
