Harry Potter: 12 Wands That Perfectly Reflect Their Owners
11. Neville Longbottom
Neville's wand is another fairly simple, traditional design. This suits his character in many the same ways as Ron's: he's a relatable, likable character who is reserved and straightforward, and his wand reflects this. You certainly wouldn't imagine Neville with anything elaborate or grandiose, although you probably can picture his overbearing grandmother wishing for such a thing.
However, it's not as simple as it might first appear.
Rather than give Neville a basic wand that might hardly be noticed, the filmmakers thought more deeply and used the advantage of the fact that the books were well ahead of the films to look for clues.
Aware that a great passion for Herbology, the wizarding combination of both biology and gardening, was set to become a part of Neville's growing character and slowly developing confidence, they produced a wand with a handle that closely mirrors the shape of gently, neatly twisting roots.
It's as if a piece of Hermione's Devil's Snare was snipped off and formed into the handle of Neville's wand, and it makes perfect sense as a prop.
