How he died: Killing Curse Who killed him: Severus Snape Why it is emotional: Dumbledore's death was premeditated, as part of the plan in order to bring down Voldemort, but it was still utterly devastating. Though the knowledge that he was cursed already and dying slowly sort of makes it better - as well as him being able to choose the manner of his death - it was awful for Snape to have to do it. And watching Harry's reaction was no less painful. His tribute, signalled by Professor Mcgonagall and everyone illuminating their wands into the face of the Dark mark was also a devastating moment, as Hogwarts were drawn together to celebrate his life and their love.
