Harry Potter: Every Order Of The Phoenix Member Ranked
Seriously though, why did ANYONE invite Mundungus Fletcher in?
Though the entire story is named after him, and it ultimately came down to a duel between him and Lord Voldemort, there was so much more to the defeat of the Dark Lord than Harry Potter. Frankly, he would have been pretty useless on his own without the likes of Hermione by his side.
The group of people that did more than anyone else in the fight against Voldemort however, was the Order of the Phoenix. Established during the first wizarding war as a means to combat the Dark Lord and his Death Eaters, the fight for the fate of wizard-kind started before Harry was even born.
Though the team successfully defeated Voldemort in the first wizarding war, the Order of the Phoenix was reformed at the Dark Lord's return, made up of the majority of those who had survived the first war, and some new blood eager to sign up and help win the war.
The second iteration of the team knew the value of Harry Potter, and the majority of its existence went towards protecting him at all costs. Some paid a higher price than others, but almost every single member contributed in a huge way to good prevailing over evil.
21. Peter Pettigrew
Once inseparable from James Potter, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew was actually an integral part of the first Order of the Phoenix. Wormtail was entrusted by Lily and James as their secret keeper when they went into hiding using the Fidelius Charm. They could have chosen anyone, from Lupin, Sirius, or even the Longbottoms, but they chose and trusted Peter.
This, of course, led to their demise. Pettigrew was coerced by Lord Voldemort and told the Dark Lord where he could find the Potters. Not only did he betray Lily and James’ secret, resulting in their deaths, he framed his other so called best friend, Sirius Black, for his own death, sending him to Azkaban for 12 years.
After going into hiding, Pettigrew was instrumental in returning the Dark Lord to his physical form, kicking off the second wizard war. Peter Pettigrew is one of the most heinous characters in the entire Harry Potter story, and the only question surrounding him is how the sorting hat could have ever thought him brave enough to be a Gryffindor.
