Harry Potter New TV Show: 25 Castings That Must Happen

15. Andy Serkis As Peter Pettigrew

Harry Potter TV Show reboot Matt Smith Lucius Malfoy
New Line Cinema

Peter Pettigrew, the cowardly and pathetic man who betrayed Harry's parents to Voldemort, is a thoroughly unlikable villain, but also one that inspired pity. Timothy Spall was (yet again!) a note-perfect piece of casting in the films, although it's a shame that he appeared so little after Goblet of Fire.

Andy Serkis would be an excellent pick to take over the role in the show. He looks the part, he's great at playing villains, and in his captivating performance as Gollum in the Middle Earth films, he perfectly captured a grotesque yet pitiful antagonist, and that's exactly the vibe Peter Pettigrew needs.

If the show was blessed enough to have this outstanding actor onboard, then he could also motion-capture Scabbers... because why the hell not?
