Dumbledore’s Army is one of the best aspects of The Order of the Phoenix.

In response to Professor Umbridge’s appalling attempts to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts, Hermione suggests that Harry teaches the subject instead. Though he’s sceptical of her idea at first, he eventually agrees. And after an initial meeting in the Hog’s Head (one of Hogsmeade’s less-appealing pubs), Dumbledore’s Army is officially formed inside the Room of Requirement.

Harry teaches his fellow pupils all manner of charms, curses, and hexes. In addition to being entertaining, these moments in The Order of the Phoenix give Harry plenty of character development as he grows in confidence and learns to be a leader.

Sadly, the D.A. is broken up when Umbridge finds out about their meetings and puts a stop to them at once. Yet the group still remains relevant in the remainder of the series. As well as travelling to the Ministry of Magic at the end of The Order of the Phoenix, the D.A. is also featured in the following novels as well.
