Harry Potter: The Biggest Mistake Each Wizarding World Film Has Made

7. Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban: The Lack Of Action

This one is probably the most critically-acclaimed film in the franchise and it is definitely the one where it started to get really good.

Alfonso Cuaron is the best director the franchise has ever had by several clear miles and he does a magnificent job, while the story is pretty great as well. It also sees the arrival of new cast members Gary Oldman, David Thewlis and Timothy Spall, who are all some of the best performers in the franchise's history.

Is it the best of the franchise? It's definitely up there, although one thing which lets it down is that it's less thrilling than some of the other films in the franchise. It lacks somewhat on the action front and although it certainly delivers on emotional depth, it does get a bit slow at times.

Still, aside from this issue and the questionable time travel element in the third act, The Prisoner of Azkaban is a very good film and saw the franchise mature in a wonderful manner.
