Lord Voldemort will go down as one of the most fearsome villains in all of entertainment. While the man behind the mythos doesn't actually do too much himself, he has such an undeterred command over his loyal Death Eaters that just the name of who they serve cannot be spoken. No one spreads fear through a wizarding world quite like ol' Voldy.

J.K. Rowling has referred to her most infamous villain as a raging psychopath and a self-hating bully, born out of non-love and desperate to avenge wizards for the stain muggles have put on their world. With notable comparisons to tyrannical dictators such as Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin, it's quite easy to see why so many people fear and despise this character.

While many fans would point their finger to the professor in pink, Dolores Umbridge, as the most despicable villain across the Harry Potter series, it's impossible to recognise just how devastating the Dark Lord was to the wizarding world.
