Hellboy Reboot: 8 Things We Want From The Big Red Revival

1. A Strong Villainess

If Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen is indeed drawing its inspiration from the Darkness Calls and Wild Hunt comic stories, we've going to need a strong villainess for the role of Nimue.

This is something we've rarely encountered in comic book movies as the vast majority of our antagonists tend to be male, so there's a big opportunity for the reboot to redress the gender imbalance.

Nimue is a fascinating character whose roots stretch back to the Arthurian legend of the Lady in the Lake, so its important the role goes to a versatile actress who can handle the character's light-to-dark transition.

Not necessarily a big name, although that could help the film's box office prospects, but somebody with experience in the horror genre would also be a bonus.

If Neil Marshall is still on good terms with The Descent's Shauna Macdonald, she could be a potential shout.
