HBO Max Content Chief Kevin Reilly has been quoted as saying that the DC TV shows coming to that streaming service will be a step up from what fans are used to seeing from The CW as they will boast, "the highest level of cinematic production values." That was a reference to both Greg Berlanti's Green Lantern and J.J. Abrams' Justice League Dark, but could Superman show up in either one of them?

There's precedent for Superman leaving Earth in the comic books, and with such muted excitement still surrounding any Green Lantern project after the 2011 movie, it certainly wouldn't hurt for the Man of Steel to be a guest star in that show (similar to how Boba Fett will appear in The Mandalorian).

Despite being vulnerable to magic, Superman has served alongside the Justice League Dark on occasion too, and the hero could find a comfortable spot on HBO Max as someone who brings eyes to these projects, and possibly gets his own big budget, high concept limited series one day.
