20 Horror Movies You Should Watch Totally BLIND
9. Kill List
Ben Wheatley's Kill List is one of the most unforgettable British films of the 2010s - a terrifically taught horror-thriller in which two hitmen (Neil Maskell and Michael Smiley) find themselves faced with an increasingly strange series of events during their assignments.
That's really all you should know about this one, which might sound more like a gritty crime thriller on paper but has some expertly deployed genre-bending shocks in store.
The story, characters, style, and tone are all incredibly fluid throughout, resulting in an experience that keeps viewers on the back foot as they're never quite sure how far Wheatley is going to push it all.
But the performances, brutality, and overall atmosphere add up to a uniquely hypnotic film that'll hold you firmly in its vice grip for all of its drum-tight, expertly edited 95 minutes.
It's the movie that put Wheatley on the map as one of our most distinctive filmmakers, and rightly so.
