We know that we want something suitably different to make the whole thing worthwhile, but not changing aspects of the story that will alter the key points of the franchise we know and love. We want something that will play into the inventive deaths, dark humour, and whacky dream-manipulation that keeps the whole series fresh, but not done in a way that relies on CGI and makes the whole thing feel cheap and dated. Of course, the project will be without Wes Craven - the founding father of all things terrifying and reason A Nightmare on Elm Street is what it is today. Without him, the series is already starting on the back foot, but there's at least a wealth of talented filmmakers out there more than ready to follow in his footsteps. Impassioned by growing up with the man's legend influencing everything we know about horror, there's surely some hands that would to justice to Krueger and his story, and plenty have already thrown their hats into the ring...
