One of the most exciting people to raise their hand with a pitch is Mike Flanagan, director of The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep and mind behind cult gems like Absentia, Gerald's Game, and Hush, as well as acclaimed horror TV series The Haunting of Hill House. He poked fun on Twitter at having his own pitch to send forward.

Put me in, coach... I’ve got a pitch! https://t.co/LPUq8hDd88

As one of the recent horror greats and proven skilled touch with sequels, Flanagan getting involved would be a dream come true. But he's not the only one with ideas, as none other than Elijah Wood has repeatedly expressed he wants to get his hands on the property with his production company SpectreVision. He stated in an interview with ComingSoon.net that A Nightmare On Elm Street is up there with his top five horror franchises he dreams of working on, with co-founder Daniel Noah stating:

"We have a very specific take on it. I think it would be very surprising and exciting to remake the franchise."

The company is a horror specialist production house, with A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night and Mandy just two of the HUGE names SpectreVision has pumped out in recent years. If the world has any spice in it at all, we'll see Flanagan take on directing duties under the production house for New Line Cinema to then distribute - keeping plenty happy in the wake of Nightmare's new stirrings.
