How Avengers: Endgame Completely Changes The MCU

1. The Avengers Now Have A Time Machine (With Alternate Realities To Explore)

What's going to change the MCU entirely though, maybe even more than everything already mentioned, is that time travel is now entirely possible. Not only that, but the Avengers themselves have access to a time machine whenever they need it.

Now, of course the filmmakers are going to limit the use of time travel going forward as it can't be a catch-all solution to all of the Avengers' problems, but it absolutely could come into play when it comes to storytelling possibilities across alternate dimensions.

It also provides an ideal way to bring dead characters back into the fray at some point down the line. Marvel aren't stupid enough to instantly undo all of their major casualties, but having the ability to have an in-universe reason to bring the likes of Captain America (the Steve Rogers version, that is) or even Tony Stark back - whether as a cameo or in a substantial role - is undeniably exciting.

No matter what they end up doing with the plot device though, one thing's for certain: there's an entire multi-verse of possibilities out there, of new dimensions to explore, and the writers now have the perfect launch pad to escalate the action even further.
