How Marvel Should Do A MCU Movies & Netflix Crossover

1. How To Bring It All Together

Ultimately, there's no reason why the Netflix shows must be both a blessing and a curse for Marvel's heroes. Daredevil should be able to make the leap to the big screen and back, and there are plenty of avenues that can be taken in order to make it happen.

For starters, it wouldn't be difficult to implement a cameo (or two) in the TV shows. Samuel L. Jackson played a key part in the season finale of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D's first season, and though we're yet to see a similar crossover take place on the small screen, there's no reason to say it can't happen again at some point.

In this case, a cross-medium teasing of a future crossover - though certainly an ambitious exercise - is feasible. It would require a great deal of cooperation between the two studios, but seeding a series of crossovers in typical MCU fashion, before slowly incorporating the TV characters into the films, would provide a stable platform from which both studios could reap the benefits.

Yes, it may be the case that untameable forces conspire to prevent this from happening, but given the desire from key figures in Marvel TV and Film to see a greater level of interconnectivity between the two franchise, fans shouldn't rule it out. Not yet, at least.

Content Producer/Presenter

WhatCulture's very own resident movie guy, Ewan has been working in the content creation biz for over 10 years now, having started as a freelance contributor to WhatCulture Gaming all the way back in 2015. After graduating with a First-Class Honours in History from Northumbria University in 2017 (where he won a prize for a totally killer dissertation on the Watergate years), Ewan took on the role of Comics Editor at WhatCulture and quickly developed WhatCulture Comics into one of the biggest superhero-focused channels on YouTube. He followed this with a brief hiatus at Screen Rant in 2021, where he worked across the Gaming and Film sections as a writer and editor, before returning to WhatCulture as a Senior Content Producer / Presenter in 2023. He started his own podcast, We Love Dad Movies, in 2022, and has contributed several written pieces to the Eisner-nominated comics website Shelfdust as well. In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
