How NOT To Make A Comic Book Movie (Why These 10 Failed)

1. Chasing Cheese (And Money) Too Much - Batman & Robin (1997)

If you were to say the words "infamous" and "comic book movie" at a party, odds are, someone would ask you if you're talking about Batman & Robin. The movie is the very definition of what NOT to do when making a comic book movie adaptation, and it was a complete bomb.

The movie failed for a number of reasons, including the presence of far too many villains, a ridiculously unbelievable plot, cheesy dialogue, ridiculously obvious product placement, and worst of all, Bat-Nipples. Yes, the costume department felt it was necessary to outline nipples on Batman's chest, making it impossible to take this movie seriously.

The dialogue was a key issue with fans, as it was little more than a thousand one-liners strung together, one after the other. Arnold Schwarzenegger may have played a decent Mr. Freeze if he had something normal to say, but his terrible puns were so bad, people walked out of the theater.

Frankly, there's a lot that could be said as to why this movie failed, but above all, it didn't respect the fans in any way. The various changes and complete lack of anything even remotely serious showed the audience that the filmmakers weren't interested in entertaining them; they seemed only interested in pissing them off.
