How Spider-Man Can Exit The MCU (And Then Continue Without It)
1. How He Can Continue (?): Just Give The Character A Break
Just hear me out.
Since 2002, which was seventeen years ago, if you haven't been keeping count, there has been one live action version of Spider-Man or another on the big screen. The Tobey Maguire version got three films, the Andrew Garfield two and the Tom Holland also two (with appearances in three non-solo outings) - that's a lot of Spidey.
So, maybe, just maybe, it's time to give live action takes on the character a break, for five or so years at the least.
Obviously, if Disney and Sony manage to come to an arrangement that allows Holland's Spidey to remain a part of the MCU then another movie would be something to clamber for, but, if not, then maybe Sony should focus on their spin-offs for a little while.
Would Sony ever give a money-making character like web-head such a break? Probably not, though, much like DC with Batman, sometimes benching a character isn't a bad thing.
