And some other favourites to follow...

Now, if this works, another team-up shouldn€™t happen. It€™s just something fun and exciting and to do it again would cheapen the effect of the monsters individually. But perhaps some new characters could enter the canon. A new spin on Beauty and The Beast in the vein of €˜Phantom€™ or €˜Hunchback€™, a definitive €˜Dorian Gray€™, because we haven€™t had a properly good adaptation in a long time, an a personal favourite is Darkman, because he€™s just such a good character and the original is such a good film. Conclusion

The Universal Monster series was always classic, and defined a generation, and to some extent a studio. Universal has not been doing well as a studio in comparison to Warner Bros. andParamount. What they have is their own Harry Potter, their own Avengers here. They€™d be foolish not do exploit it. They can enter a new golden age, potentially, and reshape American Horror whilst providing an audience and cineastes with some solid, well-made entertainment! But it seems there are numerous projects in development with Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Creature from The Black Lagoon and Jekyll and Hyde, so Universal had better get a move on!
