10 Ways Film Geeks Can Survive A Zombie Apocalypse

3. You Know That Weekend In The Country You€™ve Been Promising Yourself? Probably Take It Now

28 Days Later showed us that sticking in the middle of a city is tantamount to suicide. If you can, get out to the suburbs or an industrial park just out of town (as per Dawn of the Dead). Even better, get to a decent-sized village (ideally somewhere on high ground with a big supermarket, arable land nearby for when supplies run out, a freshwater spring, a barracks and a health spa - tussling with the undead can be stressful, so you€™ll need to find some me-time to pamper yourself at some point) and find some mates. Don€™t go too far out to the sticks though, or you€™ll find yourself totally alone and unable to properly defend yourself as you get slowly surrounded. Humans are social creatures, and if you can put together a small band of skilled individuals then you€™ll be able to either pool resources and strengthen your chances of survival, or just die one by one every fifteen minutes or so until the action rumbles to a climax after a brisk 90 minutes. Of the films I€™ve seen, the second one€™s much more likely.
