The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - 5 Unfortunate Examples Of (Accidental) Nazi Symbolism

4. President Snow's Podium & Flag-Draped Insignia

Pressnow The podium from which the murderous president Snow delivers his speeches in the Hunger Games films is also reminiscent of that used by Adolf Hitler. It's very Reichy. Complete with flag-draped insignia and crowds of people lined up in obedience, here, Snow addresses his devoted subjects much like Hitler did while publicly orating in the build-up to WWII. Hitler The Capitol town square depicted in the films also doesn't look too dissimilar from pre-war rallies of Nazi Germany, complete with 'Peacekeeping' guards protecting their ruler with a wall of steel with obvious over-zealous conviction that sees them whipping District inhabitants and burning their places of work and home IN CASE they decide to rebel. Brainwashed residents behave almost robotically, and Snow's words are treated as absolute gospel in this bleak world of totalitarian government that we feel we've seen somewhere before... Or maybe that's just me.
