In Defence Of Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness

1. Impossible Internet Expectations

DOCTOR STRANGE
Marvel Studios

As said in the previous entry, Marvel Studios could have pretty much done whatever they wanted in this film. The franchise’s reach seemingly can now stretch to previous Marvel franchises from before the MCU, and fans got a little carried away with this idea.

The internet is a wonderful thing, however it can also be dangerous in this regard. Fake news, rumours, and theories being thrown around like fact can set unrealistic expectations for a movie, exactly as it did in this instance.

Though many fans got it in their heads that Doctor Strange would be crossing paths with Tom Cruise’s Tony Stark, Nicholas Cage's Ghost Rider, Deadpool, or even a new Wolverine, Marvel Studios was always going in a different direction, and never gave any reason to expect otherwise.

Yes, there was the potential for the Multiverse of Madness to do all of these things, but just because a movie doesn’t live up to ridiculously high, stupidly unrealistic expectations of bringing in a thousand characters doesn’t make it a bad movie. Maybe it just means fans should temper their expectations in the future, and not get carried away by believing everything they read.
