Incredibles 2: 10 Things We Want To See

10. Frozone

Years before he first showed up onscreen as Nick Fury, Samuel L. Jackson had another role entirely as Frozone, Mr. "Bob" Incredible's best friend from their early glory days together. Jackson stars in so many movies (he has been in more high-grossing films than any other actor) that it's sometimes easy to take him for granted, but Frozone demonstrates his range. The Incredibles subverts the authority and raw power Jackson would project in his best-known roles as Jules Winnfield, Mace Windu and Fury. The results are often very funny, like in this scene where he's trying to persuade his wife to let him get dressed for battle or when he can't stop Bob from making a lame ice pun to greet him as he visits. But they also help establish the theme of extraordinary people so weighted down by real-world concerns that they can't express what makes them extraordinary. Frozone is good at what he does and is a big part of the movie's final battle, but it's Jackson's zest for the role (he keeps talking with Bird about it), and the way he links the Incredibles with the larger world outside them, that make us hope to see him again.
