Incredibles 2 Review: 6 Ups & 3 Downs

1. It Enticingly Sets Up Incredibles 3

We all know how superhero movies come in threes - if the box office figures are tasty enough, that is - and it goes without saying that Pixar will release an Incredibles 3 sooner or later (hopefully sooner, mind).

Though Incredibles 2 doesn't end on a cliffhanger in the same fashion that the previous film did, it nevertheless does a fantastic job of expanding the world with a host of new characters, while also hinting at the presence of supervillains out in the world ready to cause harm.

While Incredibles 3 could ultimately end up anything Brad Bird wants it to be, one suspects he wanted to nod to the possibility of a larger-scale, Avengers-sized event next time around, and considering the brilliance of these first two movies, how can fans not be excited about that?
