Independence Day 2: 10 Reasons Why Resurgence Might Actually Be Good
7. The Story Looks Promising
The idea of a second wave of invasion is the driving force behind Independence Day: Resurgence, from all accounts. It's an idea that makes sense: given the depths of space, it would be silly to have another wave of alien invaders just show up. Decades later? Now that seems to fit. It also allows time for the human survivors to regroup and rebuild. After all, without that, it would be a pretty easy win for the aliens, given how tattered humanity was after the last round (let's just not talk about how the humans actually won last time around, the whole virus deal, since it was just... ludicrous). If the script manages to mix in some solid dialog and give us just a little bit of character growth, they'll be headed in the right direction - towards success. So far, they look to be doing the right thing.
